Milton Krieger Obituary

Milton S. Krieger, 94, passed away peacefully at his home in Rancho Mirage, CA, on March 28, 2008, surrounded by his loved ones. Milt was born March 14, 1914 in Brooklyn, NY, to Simon and Leah Krieger. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. Milt was widowed after 27 years of marriage to his lovely wife, Betty. He found great joy in the last 15 years of his life with his beloved companion, Nancy Kibrick. Milt was a Pisces and in keeping with his sign had a life long love of water. He swam as many as 100 laps a day for many years and attributed his well-being to his daily regimen. Milt also took great pride in his 45 foot boat, The Aquarius, which he owned for years after relocating to Los Angeles in 1966. As an avid traveler, Milt and Nancy enjoyed cruises to Australia, Antarctica, South America, and Easter Island. Known to his friends as "indestructible", a man of nine lives, and the Eveready Bunny, Milt overcame numerous challenging illnesses. He is survived by his loving companion, Nancy Kibrick; her daughter, Gail Vaccaro and Gail's son, Aaron Vaccaro; step-daughter Susan Mahler and husband Darrell; grandchildren, Burke Mahler and wife Vanessa, and Dara Mahler; great-grandchild, precious Emma Mahler; niece Susan Rosen and family of Belle Harbor, NY. Milt now embarks on his final journey, and as he wished, his ashes will be scattered at sea.

Reading this tribute to my dear and handsome Uncle Milton, 17 years after his passing, really touched me and brought tears to my eyes. I have very few close relatives left and my Uncle Milton was very and always will be very special to me.

Dear Nancy:
Thanks you for sending me a copy of this beautiful tribute to my beloved Uncle Milton. I know that he loved you very much and appreciated, as did I, the wonderful care you gave him. Your extreme devotion to his well-being most certainly contributed to prolonging the quality and quantity of his life. My family and I send our love and condolences to you and your family in your time of sorrow.
Lots of love,
Susan

Dear Nancy:

We loved Milt as he was such an honest person. What you saw was what you got. No hesitation to express his point of view. Milt reminded us of a fruit tree. Sometimes the outside bark was rough, but it brought forth wonderfully sweet fruit. He was blessed to have you for a companion and you made his days on earth a better place.

Love,
Syd & Merv
