Mr. McGivern was my mentor in Dayton Heights' Gifted Program(mid 90s). Although never my teacher, he was such a wonderful and kind person. I saw the Gypsy Kings are touring and it reminded me of him. He always had his guitar with him and would play for us. Thank you for inspiring me to always do my best!

Mr. McGivern was my 6th grade teacher at Dayton Heights Elementary School in 1999-2000. He was a wonderful person. Some of the best memories I have from elementary school are because of Mr. McGivern. He was a great teacher. It saddens me to hear that he is no longer in this realm. Last year, I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics Education. I am currently working on earning my credential.

Mr. McGivern, I just wanted to let you know that you made a difference. Thank you, Mr. McGivern.

To my Friend Patrick, I was so saddened to hear of your passing. Richard called me and told me what happened. am so grateful he had my phone number. I think of you often my friend and I too miss you. I learned so much from you I just thought you were so awesome. I lived vicariously through all of your stories of your life experiences. I am so happy that you met Christ and accepted him as your persona savior and that you are now rejoicing and worshiping God and roaming on the street of gold. I look forward to our reunion in heaven. I hope that Lou (my baby's father) was as fortunate as you. I will love you always. Ofelia

“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.”
With deepest sympathy to Patrick's family and friends.
