Rick and I were classmates at Holy Cross and were good friends from freshman year in "pre-med". We reconnected briefly in LA while I was visiting my sons at Pepperdine. We will all miss that wonderful smile, laugh, and twinkle in his eye! My heartfelt condolences go out to his friends and family.

So sorry to have such a wonderful human being leave us. I met Rick while he was with Judy and Nolan and he was such a delight. He is in good hands.

I met Rick many years ago on a ski trip to Taos New Mexico. There was no snow to ski on so we wandered through art galleries. We lost touch for at least a decade and thankfully met up again through SAGA ski club around 4 years ago. After which, we got to spend time together in Palm Springs and on ski various trips, most memorable of which was Whistler. Rick was a gentle, kind and courageous soul. I liked him very much. My deepest sympathies to his mother, and his entire family. He will be missed.

William Wordsorth said it best:
"Though the radiance which was once so bright,
Be now forever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splender in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind."
Great memories of my ski buddy and Palm Springs friend, come to mind: Dinner and shows at the casinos; ski trips, both with Saga LA and San Diego;
working in the LA Saga booth every year at Gay Pride; and when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, he came with me for my 2nd opinion on treatments, and phoned the head Doctor at MD Anderson's Proton Beam Prostate Cancer Center to get his view which helped me decide.
Au revoir Rick.

Condolences to the family of my good friend Rick. I got to know Richard well during the years he was first diagnosed with his cancer in San Clemente, in the 1980's. Many here still remember him and will sense the loss.

What an amazing career--he accomplished so much in so short a period of time! We knew he had been ill for some time but his death is sad news to the both of us.
Love and sympathy to all his family.
