A Service of Christian Burial for Evelyn Faust, 86, of Caldwell is set for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, with Deacon John Young officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Mary's Catholic cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2016 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Faust passed from this world on June 15, 2016 in Bryan, Texas.
Evelyn was born March 6, 1930 to Henry Zgabay, Sr. and Antonie (Mader) Zagabay in Deanville, Texas.
Evelyn enjoyed quilting, baking kolaches, gardening, canning, watching Wheel of Fortune, and listening to polka music. She was a member of the KJZT, St. Mary's Catholic Church of Caldwell, and Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat for 40 years, where she taught Sunday School. She was a devoted mother and loved taking care of her grandkids and praying her Rosary.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert F. Faust; son, Travis R. Faust and brother Henry Zgabay.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James Michael & Linda Faust of Caldwell, Albert David & Debra Faust of Deanville; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy & James Grubbs of Deanville, Bridgette & Bradley Alford of Caldwell; brother, Lynden Zgabay; grandchildren, Brian Faust and wife Rhonda, Grant Faust and wife Crystal, Shawn Faust and wife Christy, Branden Faust and wife Kristine, Kevin Faust, Dara Pomykal and husband Lee, Cody Grubbs, Steven Alford and wife Callie, Chris Alford; great grandchildren, Layne and Piper Faust, Gauge and Chase Faust, Caitlyn and Savanah Faust, Alycen and Madalyn Faust, Kira and Kobe Pomykal and Adelyn Alford.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brian Faust, Grant Faust, Shawn Faust, Branden Faust, Kevin Faust, Cody Grubbs, Steven Alford, and Chris Alford. Honorary pallbearers will be Layne Faust, Gauge Faust, Chase Faust, Kobe Pomykal, and Lee Pomykal.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church of Caldwell or to Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Frenstat.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell.
