Hannah Foster Obituary

July 20, 1991 – October 27, 2007

Hannah Elizabeth Foster, 16, of Bryan passed away Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Brazos County on October 26, 2007. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, November 1 at Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, November 2 at First Christian Church in Bryan.

Hannah was a beautiful and creative young lady who loved fashion design, decorating, children and providing her parents advice in these areas. Her creative way was truly a gift, one that she willingly shared with family and friends. Especially wonderful was her ability to love small children and connect with their needs. Her talent will be missed, but forever remembered.

Hannah's creative talent was surpassed only by her sense of compassion and innate desire to nurture family or friends who were experiencing some form of discomfort. She possessed a soft touch, kind voice and manner that immediately comforted those she touched with both her heart as well as her hands. Her compassionate touch will be missed, but forever remembered.

But, perhaps Hannah's most outwardly noticeable gift was her beautiful smile. She moved us all to happiness when she beamed. Her smile was beautiful, forgiving and spoke more words than one could ever write. Her smile will be missed, but forever remembered.

In passing, Hannah lives on as she gave the ultimate gift, the gift of life to those who needed her by participating in the organ recovery program. Hannah lives on, even in death, because of this generosity. Her presence will be missed, but her memory and gifts will be forever remembered.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn Elizabeth Foster.

Survivors include her parents, Kyle and Amy Foster of Bryan; sisters, Molly Caitlin and Emma Grace Foster, both of Bryan; great-grandmother, Leo Della Hamilton of Pecos; grandparents, D.L. and Betsy Hamilton and Dale and Virginia Lovelace, all of Bryan, and John and Patsy Foster of Mesa, Ariz.; great-aunts, Sally Jane Preston of Collinsville, Anne Louise Preston and Mary Morgan Carper, both of Bryan; uncles and aunts, John and Alisa Hamilton of Bryan and Mike and Sandy Foster of Denver, Colo.; and cousins, Jace and Quinlan Hamilton of Bryan.

To the Foster Family
My sister, Brittany, played soccer with Hannah the past few years. I am sorry that I did not hear about your tragedy until recently. I did not know Hannah but I knew who the 'red head' was on her soccer team. She was a great player and was beautiful! I cannot even imagine how much pain you are experiencing. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

It’s been a month since they left this world. The tears will never stop. We have lost our babies. The pictures make us cry,so we are afraid to look at them because we know we will cry. Our hearts hurt so much. We can only ask that GOD will take care of our babies till we get there.

Kyle and Amy,

I can't begin to express my feelings. My heart is just broken for you. What a darling girl she was from all reports and pictures!

I have made a donation in her memory to the Crime Prevention Institute (www.cpiaustin.org), an organization that my daughter, Layla, and her husband, Joe, both volunteer for. I thought that in this way she would continue to help others.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you. I'm always good for a hug!

The sadness and loss experienced by Hannah's family is deep, and words will never be adequate to convey our emotions or feelings.

But, what we can indicate is our profound appreciation for family & friends who have come to our side in person, words, and gifts in Hannah's name. Your support, loving thoughts, and prayers have truly bolstered us during this time.

Thank you all for all you have done, and all have meant to Hannah while she was here, and to her family in her departure.

Sincerely, Kyle (Hannah's Dad)

This past week has been a mixture of swirling emotions and sometimes overwhelming grief as we mourned the loss of our granddaughter, Hannah Foster. It was only through the support of our friends, Hannah's friends, the Church, and the community-at-large that we have coped and gotten through. It will take time for us to come to accept, much less understand. The dignified composure of my daughter, Amy, and my son-in-law, Kyle Foster was particularly inspiring.

Many of our friends and Hannah's friends have asked what they could do to help us. Anyone who wants to do something to honor Hannah can help best by helping someone else. The Bryan School System has set up a Hannah Foster Memorial Fund to establish a scholarship in Hannah's memory. Checks can be made payable to this account and sent to Mary Walraven at Hammond-Oliver Annex, 1307 Memorial Drive, Rm. 200, Bryan, TX 77802.
Alternatively, contributions can be made at any Citibank location.

This will be a gift that keeps on giving, just as Hannah keeps on giving through her organs that are now providing life for others.

My heart goes out to you her family. I will not even try to say I know how you feel or what you are going thru. I will however tell you to cling to the Lord and he will carry you thru the dark hours and bring you peace in the morning.Let him hold you in his arms.I will be praying for all of you.

Amy,Kyle,Molly,Emma,Uncle Donny,Aunt Betsy,John,and Alisa:
There are no words to say to take all of this away. I won't say that I can even imagine what you are going through. To loose someone you love so dearly is the most senseless part of this life. I would do anything to take away your pain. I have always looked up to all of you for your kind, generous, and loving hearts. I aspire to have such a loving family as yours. Hannah is truly blessed to have all of you, as you are all blessed to have her. She is never gone. Hannah's spirit, love, laughter, and smile will be with you always. I know you are all so proud of what a beautiful soul she came to be. Time and distance may physically seperate family, but that can never stop the love you feel for them. I love all of you and keep you in my prayers.

I met Hannah only a few short weeks before she passed. The Hannah I met I was so upbeat, she would dance with me around my living room listening to techno, even if everyone else was looking at us like we're crazy. She laughed at my jokes that even I knew wasn't funny. WE got along good from the first time I met her, I only wish our relationship had time to grow into something great. R.I.P. Hannah, you will be missed.

Hannah...

what can i say about her. no words can describe how amazing she really was. she was so vibrant and full of energy. it didnt matter what kind of a mood you were in, when she came around, she just brightened up your day. i didnt know her very well, or for very long. but i didnt need to. she was just so sweet of a person, you couldnt help but to love her. school just is not the same without her. i remember on monday, we were all eating lunch in our normal spot and when it was time for her lunch to come out and she didnt, it didnt seem realistic. it just seemed like she was absent. but as the week continued, it all started sinking in that she wasnt going to be there any longer. Hannah, we are going to miss you girl! no one will ever be able to replace you! but the good thing is that we will all be reunited once again in the end.

my thoughts and prayers are with the Foster family. i cant even imagine what kind of feelings they are enduring right now.

i love you hannah. and i will see you later!

Hey Foster Family,
I know this is a very hard time for all of you. I know it is for me. All of my prayers are with you.
Today I was thinking of all the wonderful times Hannah and I had staying the night at eachother's houses. We would stay up late, watch movies, and pig out on butter lover's popcorn. We would always laugh, knowing how sick we would feel in the morning. Nevertheless, we would wake up and eat a bowl of ice cream for breakfast while watching tv. I will miss the midnight makeovers, and the late afternoon talks about absolutely nothing. I will also miss how everytime I had a problem, I could just call Hannah and I would have a whole new perspective. She was an awesome girl and an even better friend. Hannah was just the person everyone could love, not that you need to be told. I will miss her being around, but knowing that we will be together again gives me hope for the days ahead.

Love you all,
Karen

Dear all who mourn for the death of this fellow student, daughter, and dear friend. Words can't portray how deeply sorry I am for our loss. Hannah made a difference in so many people. She didn't have to say a word to make your day. It was all in her smile. None of us us know why something like this would happen, but it's not our job to know why. Only God knows why and we have to trust Him that this was His will. Keep the faith and God bless you all in this time and forever.

To Hannah's parents.....I will not pretend to know the hurt you are feeling now because I cannot imagine a loss any greater than losing a child. We always think it will be us before our children. Ten years ago I lost a precious nephew 4 days after he turned 16 years old when a careless driver hit him while he was riding his bicycle home from visiting a friend. I don't know you nor did I know Hannah but my heart breaks for you. We are deeply saddened by the loss of your beautiful Hannah. She was truely a special young woman. No words seem appropriate. Our hearts are heavy with thoughts of the pain filling your every moment. She will be missed, but never forgotten.

To the Foster and Hamilton Family,
My thoughts and prayer are with you. May God help ease the pain that you have. Just remember that Hannah will always be with you. She will be watching over you from heaven, as a beautiful angel, just as she did while here on Earth!

To the Parents of Hanna, I just wanted to say that my prayers and thought go out to you both. Hanna was a good kid. I really didn't know Hanna that well I only knew her when I worked at Bryan High
