October 31, 1928 - April 22, 2019
Jane Allen (Mooney) Donaldson was called home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on Monday, April 22, 2019 at age 90.
Jane was born and raised in Port Arthur, Tx. She graduated from the University of Alabama. By 1950 she caught the eye of Bill Donaldson in one of their classes and the rest is a history of marriage, raising 3 children, moving to several different states and using her Sociology degree to serve in their communities.
She was a loving kindergarten teacher while in NY. She loved helping families in need, doing social work in Louisiana. She started from scratch a YWCA in the Richardson School District, initiating Y-teen classes in all RISD High Schools. In College Station she was an Ombudsman for the Area on Aging Agency, starting 3 Alzheimer Support Groups for family members in the Brazos Valley.
After retirement she continued to volunteer as a counselor with Hope Pregnancy Center. She brought to our community - Precept Bible Study, where she taught and trained many. She was fondly known as "Mother Precept".
She was preceded in death by her quick witted husband, William Donaldson, whom she had been married to for 63 years.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Mark R. Donaldson (Beth), Susan J. Hawk (Mark), and Beth A. Hadden (Ed). She had four grandchildren and their spouses, Eric Hadden (Joy), Chad Donaldson, Andrew Hadden (Taylor), and Sarah Wilson (Michael). She was blessed with 5 great grandchildren, Jack and Ellie Wilson, and Travis, Tyler and Wren Hadden.
A special thanks to Tish Wilkins, RN, Rick Bell, chaplain, and Brad Price, social worker who all gave their hearts to caring for us and my mother while on Hospice, Traditions.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to, Hope Pregnancy Center, 205 Brentwood Dr., College Station, TX 77840.
