Joe Payton Jr. Obituary
Joe was born in College Station. He was an Army Private First Class (E3) and was employed at Tur-logistics Inc. for eight years. Joe was the founder and head coach of Houston Heat, he loved working with youth and sports.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe N. Payton Sr.; and brother, Robert Carter.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Payton of Houston; daughters, Janelle Payton of Hobbs, N.M., and Katie Baker of College Station; three god-daughters, Brittney Kinnard, Jasmine Momoh and Bryttany Chambers all of Houston; brothers, Dr. Felix Carter and wife, Brenda , Lorenzo Wilson and wife, Brenda all of Moreno Valley Calif., James Wilson and wife, Johnnie of Houston, Larry Payton and wife, Lisa, Fred Payton and wife, Deana, Reginald Payton and wife, Stephanie all of Bryan, Elton Payton and wife, Jackie, Darrin Payton, Eric Payton and wife, Samantha, Cedric Payton and wife, Andrea all of College Station, and Johnny Payton of Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters, Rosemary Johnson and husband, Walter and Lanell Payton both of Bryan, and Linda Payton of Houston; mother, Mary H. Payton of College Station and numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.

My heart goes out to the family, I also lost a friend when GOD took joe, not only did we go to school together we grew up together so I feel his absence also, but remember GOD is still in control and were in his garden we also will go home one day and we will see joe again. joe is in a better place he's wrapped in the bossom of our Lord and savior. I know the family is hurting but keep GOD first, luv u guys.
