John Dunman Obituary

John N. Dunman, 72, of Bryan passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. Graveside services are set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 17 at Kurten Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 16 at Hillier Funeral Home.

John was born in Houston to T.O. and Viola Norris Dunman. He enjoyed traveling both abroad and within the United States. He spent his summers in Creede, Colo., and winters in Bryan. John served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, where he acquired his love for traveling.

John had a well-known love for Oreo cookies. He was a loving family man who enjoyed his granddaughters, Tristen and Hailey Dunman, and his canine daughter, Mitzi. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed his family and life!

He attended the Central Baptist Church of Bryan.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Dunman, in 1988.

Survivors include his sons, Shawn Dunman of Porter, Tim Dunman and wife, A.J., of Bryan and Craig Dunman of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Tristen Dunman and Hailey, both of Bryan; brother, T.O. Dunman and wife, Nelda, of North Zulch; cousins, Elaine and Holmes Simpkin of Iowa City, Iowa; his canine daughter, Mitzi; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Donations may be made to the Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W. 26th St., Bryan, Texas 77803.
