I don´t know this young officer but just read of this tragedy. My heart goes out to his family and his friends. No words can ease their grief but this verse comes to mind:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding. I´m all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths.
Much love and sincere condolences.
