Patsy Lee Chance

November 18, 1939 - July 27, 2025

Born in Cross, Texas, to Alton and Essie Nevill. Her young childhood was spent in Iola and Cross. Patsy moved to Bryan with her parents and attended school. While at Stephen F. Austin High School, Patsy was in the Band and played the Clarinet. She graduated in 1957.

After High School, Patsy enrolled in Modern Beauty School where she received her beautician license and began working. Several months later, she married her high school sweetheart, Thomas D. "Buddy" Chance.

During their years together, they raised two daughters D'Anne and Stacey and one son Nathan.

In 1968, Buddy, Patsy and family moved to Bellville. As the kids grew, Patsy went to work as secretary for Bellville United Methodist Church and later with Charpiot and Dunn where she was office manager, retiring after 30 years.

During her retirement, Patsy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, working in the yard and garden, working with arts and crafts & taking time to crochet items for family. She enjoyed her pets. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church.

In 2022, Patsy and Buddy moved to Brenham Tx to be closer to their daughters. Patsy's declining health was a cause for the move. In late 2023 Patsy moved to Brenham Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility. She was a full time resident until her passing in July.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents Alton & Essie Nevill, in-laws T.D & Aline Chance, sister Nelda Zubik & husband James Zubik, Sister-in-law Shirley McDougald & husband Johnnie McDougald, and grandson Tyler Bufkin.

Patsy is survived by her husband of 67 years, Thomas D. "Buddy" Chance, daughters D'Anne Chance, Stacey Chance (Wes Boynton), son Nathan Chance & wife Sarah. Grandchildren, Cameron Gore & wife Carmen, Brittney Bufkin and Brenton Chance. Great grandchildren, Travis Vendrell, Cody Vendrell, Avery Gore, Jack, Stella Ann and Krue Bufkin, & a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
