Robert Ahn Obituary

Robert D. Ahn Jr.

August 28, 1948 - January 14, 2022

Robert D. Ahn Jr. passed away peacefully at home among friends and family in the late afternoon on the 14th day of January in the year 2022. He was a strong, smart, and compassionate man that always looked after family and friends. He was also an honest and hard working individual with an unshakeable dedication to his faith. He loved to read the Bible every morning and played the guitar whenever he had the chance. He loved cooking and offered food to everyone that stepped foot in his house. The most memorable trait however was his sense of humor.

Early in his life he was illiterate until he was drafted into the US Army in 1969. He learned to read while serving for the Armed Forces. He was Honorably Discharged after his term ended in 1971. Afterwards he acquired a Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication from the University of Hawaii, class of 1981.

He was a leader through example, and his handwork and determination shines through everyone that he's inspired throughout his life. His favorite saying when it came to hard word was "inch by inch is a cinch, and yard by yard is very hard". This was supposed to teach us how to go at big tasks, little by little with perseverance and determination.

He is survived by his sons, Charles Ahn, Jefferey Ahn, and Nathan Ahn. Robert is also survived by his siblings Gerald Ahn, Yvonne Sakamoto, Micheal Ahn, and Steven Ahn. He is reunited with his wife Helen Ahn.

Andy and I will always remember Bob with such warmth and affection. His house was the center of many, many fond memories for our family. We miss him and his generous spirit.

I always had the highest regard for both Robert and Helen. We are now left with their three sons to remind us of their presence in spirit from now on.
