Ruth, 77, of Bryan, passed away in her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. A time for family to receive friends will be from 5:00-8:00 pm on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Hillier Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 600 E. 26th St. Bryan, Texas 77803 with Msgr. John McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 pm at Fayetteville City Cemetery.
Ruth was born on February 17, 1937 to Wilburn Fritsch and Mamie (Jaster) Fritsch in Fayetteville. She graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1955. Ruth was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan. She owned and operated Ma and Pa's Catering with her husband where she fed thousands of people over a 20-year period. Cooking for people was one of her greatest passions, but this came second to her love for her family. Ruth also enjoyed embroidering baby blankets, gardening and living in the country.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Kenneth Klimek.
Ruth leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years and 11 months, Edwin Klimek; daughter, Rebekah Charanza and husband Kevin; grandson, Aaron Charanza; granddaughter, Hannah Charanza; brother Gary Fritsch and wife Betty; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Compassionate Care team and all those who helped care for Ruth during her illness.
