Sandra Cahill Cason

1943 - 2025

Sandra Cahill Cason was born February 18, 1943 in Bryan Texas, in the Smetana Community to parents Joseph J. and Helen Regmund Cahill and died May 14, 2025 at 82 years of age at her Buchanan Dam home.

Sandra graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan in 1961 and attended business school where she met her future husband, Bill Cason. Sandra and Bill were married May 15, 1967 and lived in the Austin area for many years. Sandra made her career working for the City of Austin until her retirement in 2005. Sandra and Bill enjoyed many happy years fishing, cooking and entertaining family and friends at their Buchanan Dam Lake home until Bill's death in 2022. Sandra loved spending weekends antiquing in the hill country with her cousin Sherry. She amassed a treasury of antiques and collectables. Sandra was a wonderful homemaker, gardener and cook and loved holiday baking. She was known for her incredible cheese straws, chocolate chip cookies and other amazing goodies.

Sandra is survived by four cousins, Sheryll Greer Lewis of Austin, Diana LeNoir Laske of Graford, Peggy Ann Biggs and Cindy Biggs Klecka both of Bryan. Preceded in death by her parents and by her husband of 54 years, Bill C. Cason; also, by cousins Donna Kay LeNoir and Rodney Milton Greer.

Her ashes will be inurned beside Bills in the Smetana Cemetery outside of Bryan in Brazos County. Care entrusted to Putnam (Harrell) Funeral Home 145 Texas Ave. Kingsland, Texas and Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan.
