Sheridan Austin Obituary

October 19, 1945 - March 8, 2013

Sheridan Evans Austin, 67, of Madisonville, Texas, passed away March 8, 2013 in Conroe, Texas. The funeral service will be held at 3p.m. Wednesday, March 13th, at the First United Methodist Church of Madisonville. Brother Lanier Stevens of Midway Church of Christ, Reverend George M. Wilson of First United Methodist Church of Madisonville, and Brother Johnnie Crocker of Sand Prairie Baptist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday March 12th at the Madisonville Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Madisonville Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Madisonville Funeral Home.

Sheri was born in Navasota, Texas on October 19, 1945. She graduated from Madisonville High School and continued on to receive a bachelors degree from Texas Christian University. Sheri was also a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority at TCU.

Sheri was married to Don Austin on August 8, 1991; they were married 22 years. Sheri was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend and volunteer. She had previously taught in the public school system and was a published author of educational curriculum. Sheri also had many amazing talents; cooking, gardening, painting, and stained glass. She enjoyed her years with the Madisonville Economic Development and the Mushroom Festival. Her most cherished activity was spending time with her many grandchildren. She absolutely LIVED for their many birthday and Christmas events. She was an awesome GIVER!

Sheri is survived by her spouse Don, her sister Elizabeth Evans, her four boys and their spouses; Brad and Stacy Ely of Hearne, Ben and Josie Ely of Hearne, Bart and Deyanira Ely of Bryan, and Barry and Rynida Ely of College Station. Her blessings (grandchildren) who called her Shug are (oldest to youngest) Sam Ely, Allyson Ely, Christian Ely, Emily Ely, Luke Ely, Emmett Ely, Clayton Ely, Molly Ely, Madison Austin, and Savannah Austin. Many numerous other family and friends.

Sheri is preceded in death by her parents "Snooky" E. B. Evans and Marjorie Evans.
