ANDERSON — The earthly journey has ended for Lucy Holcombe Marett of Anderson. She departed to her heavenly home on August 10, 2015.
Lucy was born in the Dacusville community of Pickens County to loving parents George W. and Susan W. Holcombe. She was retired from Sears and Roebuck and a member of North Anderson Baptist Church.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Charles Hugh Marett, her brothers John Townes Holcombe and George Baxter Holcombe, and sisters Helen H. Philpot, Dorothy H. Williams, Eva Sue H. Williams and Janette "Trab" Sanichas. Lucy was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Lucy is survived by her caregiver and grand-nephew Christopher G. Williams and his mother Dorothy. She is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews and her sister in law Beatrice Greene and her husband James.
Services will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the graveside of the Latham Family Cemetery in her childhood community.
Visitation will be prior to the graveside service from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
It is respectfully requested that flowers be omitted. Memorials may be made to the Latham Cemetery Fund c\o Douglas T. Gaston, 205 Cabin Road, Easley SC 29605
A special thank you goes out to the staff of Northpoint Assisted Living in Anderson, S.C., for the great job they did in making Lucy's last years of her life a pleasure.
