LIBERTY — Rebecca Gaines Platts, age 81, of Liberty, S.C., went home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.
Rebecca was a member of First Baptist Norris. She graduated from Lander University and retired from Clemson Extension Service. Rebecca loved to create and appreciate beautiful crafts of any kind. Her true passion was for quilting. She was a member of the Upstate Quilting Guild. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Preceded in death by her parents Harold and Lois Gaines; brother, Roger Gaines. Survived by her children: Rebecca (Chris) Harper, Carl T. Platts Jr. , Barbara (Mack) Creswell and Elizabeth Platts; Grandchildren: Ensign Reid (Avery) Creswell II, Elizabeth Platts, Alexander Harper, Gabrielle Creswell, Cameron Platts and Roger Harper; Sister: Susan (Stan) Yates; Former spouse: Carl Platts Sr. ; Several nieces, nephews and close friends.
Funeral services were held July 16, 2021. Receiving friends was held at Liberty Mortuary with the funeral following at the same location . The livestream of the service was available for viewing at 11 a.m. Friday by visiting her obituary at www.libertymortuary.com
The graveside service was held at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Rebecca was a welcome addition to our Platts family and a wonderful mother and grandmother. Professionally, she made many contributions to make Hampton County a better place to live. She will always have a place in our hearts.
