Birdia Anderson Obituary

Feb. 11, 1928~Sept. 7, 2025
FRANKLIN - Mrs. Birdia "Birdie" Lee McPherson Anderson, 97, went to heaven Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025.
Birdie, as she wanted to be called, was the daughter of John E. and Birdie Garland McPherson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life and best friend, Clyde H. Anderson, Sept. 24, 1981; brothers, George N. McPherson, William E. McPherson and Robert W. McPherson Clodfelter; and Ruben B. Anderson, who was more like a son than a nephew. Birdie is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Birdie worked for several years as custodian for First Union/Wachovia Bank, where she was a co-worker and friend to all the employees over the years. Birdie's love for the outdoors was evident in the care of her lawn and flowers. In June 2024 she was awarded "Lawn of the Month" by the Carson community. She also loved to travel with her dear friend Becky Byrd.
The past seven months Birdie was lovingly cared for by The Franklin House and Four Seasons Hospice.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m., at Rush Cemetery with Chaplain Donny Edwards officiating.
In lieu of flowers please respect Birdie's wishes with memorials to The Rush Cemetery, c/o Bryant Phillips, 2771 Addington Bridge Rd., Franklin, NC 28734.
