God bless you Jim,
You are one of my hero's. I met you playing basketball when you were in your 60's & treasured our friendship the next 18 years seeing you on the court, CYO games, Ascension or wherever. What a model you are for all of us as a father, spouse, friend, teammate & catholic. Thank you for bringing a smile to all of us every time we saw you & may the memories your family & friends have help ease the pain of your loss. You were a gem & a dandy. Hang in there Maher family, Jim's great qualities have been passed down to you all.

What a very thoughtful person, I'm so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We didn't know him too well but, my son & I would see him at our neighborhood pool and he ALWAYS asked my son how he was doing and remembered what sports he played and they would talk about that. He always had a smile on his face and was genuinely happy to see you. His positive outlook and spirit will be missed by all, I'm sure. I will always have fond memories of our conversations.

Our family has wonderful and happy memories of Jim and the Maher family. As with most people our connection was Church, Mass, and gathering together as families. Our deepest sympathy as our thoughts and prayers go out to Rosemary and family. Tony & Ginny Torchia

What an awesome man Jim was, and we are so thankful to have known him. As others have said, he took such a genuine interest in us, was always so present in our conversations, and had a knack for remembering obscure facts about our family. I will always treasure our long conversations at the KM pool and I will never forget the joy I always felt upon seeing him at the Ascension school mass. What a very special man, who will be missed dearly by us and so many!

What do I not say about Jim ! He was an amazing father who, when he got home he went straight to the bathroom to give the smaller kids their bathes! After that he dove in making sure studies were done by all. I truly believe that when you say his name,it automatically brings a smile on on your face! He was loving to all, friends to anyone that met him and a father that none could compare to! He will be missed by many! My prayers go out to those that are families, those that were friends and neighbors. Jeri Petty Meyer

Maher family,
I was saddened to learn of Jim's passing. I, too, met him playing recreational basketball at Prince of Peace.
He took great interest in my children as well, one of whom is named Riley and another who plays college basketball.
He will be sorely missed by so many. May he rest in peace.

Dear Maher family. I had the great pleasure of meeting and praying with Jim at Prince of Peace Adoration on Sunday nights. What great conversations we had. He always loved to tell stories about his family and wanted to know about mine. As he would leave the chapel he would always say..."thanks guys and thanks Jesus!" I can picture the excitement on his face as he sees his friend Jesus face to face. So blessed that God put Jim in my life. Prayers to all of you.

Dear Rosemary and Family
Jim was truly one of the nicest people I have had the privilege of knowing. He was always quick with a smile and a kind word. I played BB with him for years at Ascension and he was the most positive person I have ever met. He would always ask about my son and remembered he was an accountant and soccer player even though we only spoke about him once or twice. I am already missing the fist bumps at church and our quick chats. He was truly one of a kind.
