Jerry Fankhauser Obituary

Jerry A. Fankhauser, age 73, longtime resident of Lone Tree, died in his man cave at his home surrounded by his family and his stuff on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Jerry was born January 7, 1952, in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Gerald and Helen (Robinson) Fankhauser. He graduated from Pekin High School and made his way to the Iowa City area following this. Here he worked for the City of Coralville and later for the University of Iowa. Jerry enjoyed simple living, camping, fishing, dancing, being an Iowa Hawkeye, but nothing beats having a Busch Light in his "Man Cave" (garage) with family and friends! His family includes his three daughters, Amy Fager (Jim), Angie Staff, and Michelle "Shelly" Snyder; three granddaughters, Rachel, Andrea and Alyvia Fager; his mother, Helen Fankhauser; three sisters, Cindy Lindley, Sandy Stramondo and Janette Blakely (Dwayne) and two brothers, Jeff Fankhauser (Danielle) and Wayne Fankhauser. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; infant son, Jerimy; sister, Dixie Chapman and his father, Gerald. Services celebrating Jerry's life will be held later this year to be announced. He will be buried with his wife, Judy at the Lone Tree Cemetery.
