Michael Bamsey Obituary

MICHAEL L. BAMSEY "BAMZ" Cedar Rapids Michael L Bamsey, "Bamz," 60, passed from a sudden illness on April 27, 2020, at UnityPoint-St. Luke's surrounded by his wife and family. Michael forever will be remembered for his smile, generosity to help others and willingness to have a good time. He would not want us to remember him in death, but rather in the life that he enjoyed so much. He was a true soulmate and companion, a father, son, brother, and friend. Mike enjoyed camping, boating, long Harley rides, and countless hours of morel hunting with his best friend and soulmate, Connie Coulbourn-Bamsey. "I love you more." He will be greatly missed. Mike was born March 1, 1960, in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Jefferson High School, Class of 1978. After graduation, he became a member of IBEW Local 405, working for ACME Electric for years. He married the love of his life, Connie, and they celebrated 22 years of marriage with a trip to St. Thomas. His wife Connie is hosting a Celebration of Life on May 23, 2021, from 1 to 5 p.m. at IBEW Hall, 1211 Wiley Blvd. SW. Food and beer provided. A eulogy by the family will be at 1:30 p.m.
