MICHAEL D. TUSING Solon Michael D. Tusing, 69, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022. Services: 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the American Legion in Solon. Survivors include his fiancee, Kathy Wise-Gosnell; five children, Jayson, Niki, Charity, Mandy and Autumn; two brothers, Daniel and Patrick Tusing; his sister, Deana Tusing; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Dean Tusing. Michael was born June 6, 1952, to Alice and Dean Tusing in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1970. He married Kathy Stumph in 1973 and they were blessed with five children. They later divorced. Michael was a die-hard Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes fan, as well as a gardening enthusiast. He loved his coffee, Oreos and Cubbies. Michael worked in construction and concrete paving for 45 years. He was a foreman for City Wide Construction before retiring. The family would like to thank Kathy Wise-Gosnell for lovingly taking care of Michael throughout his illness.
