Raymond Vance Obituary

RAYMOND WALTER VANCE Cedar Rapids Raymond Walter Vance, 43, of Cedar Rapids, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 19, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah; their three kids, Hadley, Easton and Boston; his mother, Nancy; his sister, Lori Bernoir and brother-in-law, Kevin Bernoir; his three nephews, Seth, Vance and Guy; and his brother, Eric and his wife Susan. He joins his father, Earl Vance; his brother, Brian; friends from his younger life; and his grandparents, Olga and Walter Yackowski and Marion and Raymond Lagasse, in death. Raymond will be missed by his many friends and acquaintances who all have "Ray" stories they'll remember forever, as he himself was a loyal and fierce friend. He was handsome and the life of the party and one of the friendliest, happiest people when he was in the right mood. He was a proud father to Hadley, Easton and little Boston, born not quite a year ago. His presence will be incredibly missed in their lives. Ray was a hard worker and worked in concrete and construction in recent years. His sense of humor, which grew and grew over the years, was something to witness. His charismatic walk through a bar or a club was seamless. He was cool and he knew it. This lasted his entire life. So many people are going to miss Ray that this just doesn't seem fair. Social media has been filled with posts remembering what he meant to so many people. He will be missed as a husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed for his kindness, his warmth, his charisma, his ability to make you feel like you were on top of the world with him, for only that moment. Love you forever, Raymond, hope that you're finally at peace and happy. And finally, it wouldn't be right to not end this about Ray's love of the all sports teams New England. He loved the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics, maybe a little too much! He's now the Patriots' No. 1 fan in the sky. Go Pats!
