Ruth Dietz Obituary

Ruth Anna Dietz, 95, of Cedar Rapids passed away June 15, 2024. Visitation: 5-7 PM, Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Service: 11 AM, Friday, June 21 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Ruth was born on June 6, 1929, in Shellsburg, IA, the daughter of Lester and Lillian (Hall) Holmes. She was united in marriage to Robert LeRoy Dietz Sr. on July 29, 1950. Ruth worked as a custodian at Merchants National Bank until her retirement. She was an active volunteer at Olivet Presbyterian Church and the Jane Boyd Community House for many years. Ruth enjoyed baking and having a Sunday meal after church with all of the children. She loved spoiling them. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Robert Dietz Sr., son Robert Dietz Jr., daughter Rose Johnson, son-in-law Alex Johnson, and her siblings. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Marie Dietz of Marion, grandchildren Bob (Erin) Dietz, Honna (Tony) Topping, Daniel Johnson, and Tim Johnson, great grandchildren Beth, Tyler, and Kaitlyn Topping, and Beckett Dietz.
