Steve and I met in 1979 when I first started working at Collins. He and I began working on the same project shortly after that. Through the decades that followed, we worked together on and off, but he was always reliable whenever we worked together. We shared a number of interests outside work as well, so we shared information and shot the bull about those during breaks. Steve was a good guy and once loaned me the electric cart that he normally used at work when I was enduring a painful episode of sciatica as I walked back from a location far from my desk at work, telling me that I needed it more than he did. Very sorry to hear of his passing (i.e. just was told about it a couple of days ago by a mutual friend) and want to pass along our condolences to his family.

Steve was a great mentor to me and helped me in having a successful career at Collins Aerospace. And more importantly, He is the reason why I am a better Christian man today. God Bless you and family. I celebrate your memory with great fondness.

I worked with Steve at Collins Radio for many years. Also shot a few rifles and pistols together as members of the Cedar Rapids Rifle and Pistol Club. Always enjoyed his easy going nature. Steve was a pleasure to work and play with.
