Benjamin Cook Cubbage, Jr., 89, of Evansville, Indiana died Wednesday, November 15, 2017. He was born in Sewanee, Tennessee on June 10, 1928, to Benjamin Cook Cubbage and Elizabeth Frances Barnitz. He attended Albany Academy in Albany, New York and then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University. He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy and returned to Vanderbilt where he earned his law degree in 1955.

Mr. Cubbage practiced law in Henderson, Kentucky for nearly 60 years and primarily devoted his career to the oil and gas industry. He was active in many trade associations, including the Independent Oil Producers and Land Owners Association Tri-State, of which he had served as director, secretary and president. He was a former Henderson Rotary Club president, former president and active member of the Board of Trustees of Evansville Day School, a senior member of the Vestry of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Henderson, and former member of the Board of Trustees of the Eastern Mineral Law Foundation.

Mr. Cubbage is predeceased by his best four-legged friend of 19 years, "Cat." He is survived by his wife, Dolores Cubbage of Evansville, two daughters, Dabney Cubbage of Dallas, Texas and Frances Langley of Henderson, two granddaughters, Ali Langley of Henderson and Elizabeth Gafford of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and three great-grandchildren, Gabe, Emmylou and Benjamin.

A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Evansville Day School or St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Henderson in memory of Benjamin Cubbage.
