Doris Goad Obituary
Spottsbille, Ky.
Doris Goad, age 83, of Spottsville, Ky., passed away at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at her home under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice.
Doris worked for the Bell South Telephone Company for more than 40 years. She was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a long-time member of the Eastern Star. Doris was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church. She always enjoyed outings with family and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Newton Benjamin Goad Jr., who passed away in 1976, as well as her siblings, Peggy Ruth Septer, Robert B. Septer, Frances D. Craig, Rebecca J. Mason, William "Donald" Septer and David H. Septer.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Goad and John Goad, both of Spottsville, Ky.; three sisters, Modest Marie Fortenbach, of Houston, Texas, Barbara Ann Arflack, of Owensboro, Ky.; and Mabel Naomi Crowder, of Campbellsville, Ky.; brother, Thomas K. Septer, Sr., of Spottsville, KY.; two grandchildren, Elizabethe and Benjamin; numerous nieces and nephews
Relatives and friends are invited to Doris' Life Celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and again on Sunday starting at noon at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at the funeral home, with Rev. Russell Wood officiating. Entombment will follow at Fernwood Cemetery Mausoleum, in Henderson, Ky.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony's Hospice.
