Brandon Collofello Obituary

Brandon Scott Collofello
It is with heavy hearts we share that, our beloved Dr. Brandon Scott Collofello, a loving father, son, brother and friend has sadly left us on October 21, 2023 at the age of 31. He completed his residency and graduated as an Orthopedic Surgeon in June from University of Kentucky in Lexington. He is survived by his daughter Emma Collofello, mother Michelle Bannon (nee Kohn) and husband Michael Bannon, Brandon's Father Mark Collofello, siblings Dakota Collofello (Madeline), Christina Bearden (Jason), Timothy Bannon (Samantha), Meghan Langan (Joseph Daniel), Matthew Bannon and grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Brandon was a devout Christian who believed deeply in God. Brandon wanted dearly to help others less fortunate. All of Brandon's life he spent helping others and in whatever he did, Brandon always showed love and compassion for others. He was the co-founder of Chicago Street Medicine, he set a Guinness Book World Record to raise awareness and money for Feed My Starving Children, he donated many hours of his already sparse free time to volunteer at a veteran's hospital, he helped build housing for the less fortunate in other countries, and he would hand-craft and donate rosaries.
There are no words to describe how much Brandon's family love him and miss him.
The Memorial Service Mass will be held on December 3, at 1 p.m. with reception from 2-4:30 at University of St Francis St. Joseph Chapel, 520 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, IL 60435.
In remembrance of Brandon Collofello's life and in lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to The University of St. Francis' Mental Health and Wellness fund. Brandon loved his alma mater and this fund supports counseling services, crisis lines, and group therapy for all USF students. To make a donation, please visit https://secure.acceptiva.com/?cst=c0802b and designate your gift to the Mental Health and Wellness fund in Brandon's name. His family greatly appreciates your support.

Such a kind, welcoming and friendly face during my undergrad at USF. He didn't have to know a person to be kind to them, which was and is such a rare quality to find. Prayers for his entire family.

Brandon was a student of mine at USF. We did a research project together and even published a small paper. He was kind and hard working. Rest in peace, Brandon.
