Died: August 5, 2018; in Lemont, IL
David Marshall Walsh, founder and owner of Walco Tool & Engineering, passed away peacefully in his home in Lemont, IL on Sunday, August 5th, at the age of 78.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, October 26th, 1939, to the late Marshall and Elizabeth (nee Oldenbrook) Walsh, David attended Saugus High School. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps, and graduated from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. This June, David celebrated 50 years of Walco Tool & Engineering with his employees. He lived a full and accomplished life, building a legacy, traveling the world and making a difference in people's lives. His dedication to his country, his craft, and his family is unparalleled.
David will be lovingly remembered by his wife, of 35 years, Martha (nee Mikan); his sons, Rick (Kim) and Tim (A.J.); and his grandchildren, Amanda Breanna, Jack and David; and by his sister, Lois Di Vita; and half-brother, Thomas O'Shea; as well as numerous extended family and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard.
David was a generous man who supported many causes and organizations.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
A celebration of David's life will be Wednesday August 8, 2018 from 4 :00 to 7:00 P.M. at Gerharz-Cappetta Funeral Home 501 State St., Lemont. Memorial Services Thursday 11:00 A.M. at Bethany Lutheran Church 500 Lemont St., Lemont.
