We are so sorry to hear of Joann's passing. My family and I are her neighbors. She was always very kind to our children. My kids used to love seeing her ride on her golf cart and play with her beloved dog, Tracy. I'm so very sorry for your loss. She told us many stories of her husband over the years. May she finally be reunited with him.

I am very sad to hear of her passing. She hired me to teach at Conant and guided me with her strength and leadership through many years of my early teaching days. Jo was an inspiration to me and other staff at Conant.
My condolences to JoAnn's family,

I loved her!! I was thinking of her last week and tried googling her name. I had her for 2 years as my sewing teacher. She helped me turn myself around and nominated me for the Cougar Wall of Pride for my sewing. I have missed her all these years and thought of her quite often. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mrs. Icenogle's passing, but Bill and Julie Perry's remembrance makes clear that she knew how to live life and did so until the end! I was in Mrs. Icenogle's Sewing 2 class back in the 80s. I don't recall the details of how I was allowed to take a Sewing 2 class, having never taken any of the other home economics or sewing classes, but I know I went into that class not knowing the first thing about using a sewing machine or following a pattern, and under Mrs. Icenogle's expert instruction, learned to make many garments that I proudly wore to school, including blouses, slacks, and jackets. I am grateful for the practical skills Mrs. Icenogle taught me that I use to this day and for her unfailing encouragement. May she rest in peace.

I LOVED having Mrs. Icenogle for a teacher in the 80s! I took almost every sewing and design class offered, and Mrs. Icenogle was so knowledgeable and inspirational in helping me direct my efforts in whatever way I was inspired to go with my projects and beyond. I have been lucky enough to follow my passion, in retail management in different fabric stores and others for most of my life, and I now own my quilt shop in Boscobel, Wisconsin. When I am teaching someone to sew, giving tips, or working with other quilt instructors, I frequently think back to how I got my start in the sewing world, in Mrs. Icenogle's classroom! I offer my sincere sympathies to her family and friends. Please know that she made a beautiful difference in many people's lives.

Like many teachers, she touched the future. I have thought of her often over the years when attempting difficult sewing projects. Most recently, I have shared skills she taught me with my granddaughter. My condolences to her family and friends.

I had Mrs Icenogle for several sewing classes at Conant High School. She was an excellent teacher who balanced kindness with an expectation of excellence. I am sad I never connected with her post-high school just to say thank you for imparting upon me some life skills that I continue to use today. Rest In Peace, Mrs. Icenogle.

Joann was a wonderful lady and she will be missed by many. I had the privilege of working with her while planning travel for her and her lady friends. I am so sorry to hear that she is gone.

So many memories of the times we shared traveling with both Joann and Paul and then with just Joann. Spain and Portugal, Vietnam, Berlin and Poland, Russia. The Christmas parties at her house - last one last December, lunches with her every couple months, and classes making wreaths, strawberries and many other things from her garden. Still have many of the plants we bought from them in the spring - and will be reminders.
She is already missed. She was an important part of the Conant family.
Our condolences to Joann's family,
Bill and Julie Perry

Jo hired me for my first teaching job at Conant High School. We became good friends. I am so very sorry to hear of her passing but know she and Paul are gardening together again in Heaven. Prayers for her family.

I loved her garden and made hypertufa planters with her. Lovely lady. I have one of her dry flower decorated plates I treasure.

I am so sorry for your loss. I use to be a neighbor of Joann and Paul. They were wonderful neighbors. They were kind enough to open their gardens to my son's boy scout troop, a memory the boys, now men will never forget. It is amazing what they did to the property and their love to teach others. Joann will be truly missed.
