John J. Jakovich

John J. "Jake" Jakovich, age 71, entered into eternal life on Sunday, December 21, 2014, with his loving family by his side.

Jake is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Marilyn (nee Sorensen); loving sons, John "Jake Jr.", Jason (Amanda), and Joseph (Shannon) Jakovich; cherished grandchildren, Brady, Jake, Alison, Jack, and Maggie Jakovich; dear sister, Mary Alyce Koren; special niece and Goddaughter, Jenelle Koren; as well as numerous other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Alice (nee Benedick) Jakovich; and numerous aunts, uncles, and one brother-in-law.

Jake was a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School in the class of 1961. He was an avid golfer and bowler in his younger years. He was a member of Moran A.C. and Plainfield Moose Lodge #2491. Jake was renowned in the retail automotive industry for over 45 years. He spent many years at Vidmar Buick and finished his illustrious career as executive manager at Bill Jacobs Chevrolet in Plainfield in 2010. Jake was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He touched many lives. His kind and generous heart will never be forgotten. Jake will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jake's name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet.

A Celebration of Jake's life will begin on Monday, December 29, 2014, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet to be held at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends to meet directly at church. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435.
