Joseph J. Barello, age 91, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at his home with family by his side.
Born on July 20, 1926 to the late Adelaide (Ferrero) and John D. Barello.
Preceded in death by his wife, Linda J. (Guerrini) Barello; a granddaughter, Gina; and two siblings.
Survived by his children, James J. Barello, Catherine Anne (Michael) Turley and Joseph J. (Lynn) Barello; grandchildren, Julie, Nicholas, Carly and Cassie Barello. Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
Born in Joliet, a lifelong resident. Joseph served in the Army in Europe during W.W.II. And was Commander of Stone City V.F.W. Post 2199 for 20 years. He owned a masonry business and was a bricklayer for 50 years. Member of the Model A Ford Club of America and restored three Model A Ford vehicles.
Funeral from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, Wednesday November 22, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. to St. Patrick Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will be Friday, November 24, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
