Stephanie Bajt Obituary

Stephanie Stella Bajt, nee Wolan, age 94 died on December 29, 2008 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home. She was a lifelong resident of Joliet, IL. The sole child of the Late Frank and Magdalen Wolan.

On May 18, 1935, she was married to the Late John G. Bajt. John was the oldest of eight children and his family became her family.

She enjoyed shopping, vacations, sewing, crocheting, baking, making pierogis, interior painting, had endless remodeling ideas and told many stories to her grandchildren and great grandchildren of the "old days" which she remembered fondly.

She was survived by her children, Dorothy (Anthony "Red") Plese of Joliet, IL, Robert (Gail) Bajt of Aurora, IL and John (Mary Kay) Bajt of Independence, MO; ten grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law and dear friend, Evelyn Biegun; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mary Nativity School, Joliet Area Community Hospice or Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home would be deeply appreciated.

Family did gather with friends at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home on Friday, January 2, 2009 where a visitation and Memorial Mass of Christian Burial took place at 10:30 AM. Inurnment was held at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery.
