Anthony D'Alto Obituary

Anthony D'Alto
Weston Resident
Anthony D'Alto, 79, of Weston, Connecticut died suddenly on October 25, 2012.
Mr. D'Alto was born in Teggiano, Salerno, Italy, son of the late Giuseppe and Maria D'Alto. He was predeceased by his wife Martha and his first wife Beverly (his son's mom) and he is survived by his son Anthony D'Alto.
Mr. D'Alto is well known in the community as a passionate restaurateur. Over the last 50 years he opened up a large number of very successful restaurants across Connecticut, as well as surrounding states. He truly enjoyed working with young folks who had a similar passion, helping them in achieving their dreams by mentoring and coaching them on how to succeed in the restaurant business.
Many Italian immigrants who came to the United States in the 60s and 70s found work because Mr. D'Alto gave them the start in one of his restaurants. He enjoyed spending time with friends and his friends enjoyed having a good dinner, a glass of wine and a laugh with a great businessman and friend. He was a Pyramid Shriner member and was also a 3rd Degree Mason member of the Ashlar Aspetuck Lodge n.142 in Easton, CT.; recently he received from the Lodge his 25th anniversary pin. He will be missed by all.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Rd. E., Westport, CT. All are invited to attend a graveside service at 10:30 AM Friday, November 2, 2012 meeting directly at Saint Michael Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave., Stratford, CT. 06615.

To the D'Alto family: Sorry to hear of Tony's passing, I knew him for many years, extremely passionate about the restaurant industry, and those who worked for him. My good fortune was just having the oppurtunity to know him, he was generous to those who served him in the business, always honest to those who were less than honest with him. Tony was always kind to me,even if the years got away from us,he will always be in my thoughts. Godd Bless your family.

What can I say about a man I knew for nearly my entire life. Tony was a warm, generous man who always treated me with respect and kindness. Even though I knew him for so long, we only became friends in the past few years while doing business together. I will truly miss him and am so sorry I never got to say good bye. Rest In Peace Tony, I'll never forget you!
