Bryan Sclafani Obituary

Sclafani, Bryan
Bryan Sclafani, 22 of Stamford, CT passed away on October 29th, 2016 in Conway, SC.
He was a graduate of Trinity Catholic High School, class of 2012. Bryan was a multi sport athlete which included baseball, football and mixed martial arts. Bryan's greatest passion was for MMA where he was an accomplished champion and a respected fighter by his peers and instructors. Bryan was an avid football enthusiast. He was a lifelong Denver Broncos fan. He had a deep connection to Chicago Bears' Walter Payton having read his biography many times. A quote from that book "Never die easy" became his life's motto. This quote drove Bryan's athletic heart to push beyond physical barriers, to strive for greatness and to inspire those around him.
Bryan was also a great lover of animals making it his mission to personally rescue as many shelter dogs as possible even if it meant pushing shelter puppies on his family and friends. None of us could refuse Bryan's tenderness in this altruistic calling. Bryan was beloved by all who knew him,
Bryan is survived by his parents Gus and Sharon Sclafani, his siblings Travis, Jessica and Adam Sclafani, sister-in-law Teresa Sclafani, his nieces and nephew Victoria and Dominic Umbro Sclafani and Adriana Sclafani, as well as his maternal grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by Miley and Gotti, his beautiful dogs.
The Sclafani family will be receiving visitors at the Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 3-7 p.m. A remembrance ceremony will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Lacerenza's where friends and family are encouraged to speak and share memories of Bryan. Entombment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, CT
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in Bryan's honor to the American Cancer Society or a local animal shelter as Bryan felt deeply responsible for contributing to these organizations.

Bryan was a special respectful quiet person. We met Bryan as our son Christopher's apartmentmate at CCU - UP freshman year. He joined us many times going out to dinner & he & my husband chatted about MMA. Christopher always spoke so highly of Bryan. We are so saddened by the loss of this special man. Please keep your memories close & stories flowing. He will be deeply missed by many. With condolences & prayers. Mike, Peggy, & Chris Keane
