Florence O'Malley Obituary

Florence Bayliss O'Malley
Florence Bayliss O'Malley was called to rest January 19, 2021. Born and raised in Norwalk, Flo was a graduate of Norwalk High School Class of 1944. She had worked as a bookkeeper at several local companies in Norwalk during her younger years.
A devoted wife, Flo was married to John O'Malley, who preceded her in death by 33 years. Flo and John raised 3 sons, Gary, Brian and Scott O'Malley. Gary is married to Kathryn O'Malley; they have three children and four grandchildren and currently live in Marietta, GA. Brian, who was a longtime Norwalk resident, predeceased Flo several years ago and left behind three children and four grandchildren. Scott is married to Lisa O'Malley; they have two children and have been lifelong residents of Norwalk.
Flo and John moved to Lake Worth, Florida in 1981 to enjoy their retirement years. Claiming that she did not want to become a "golf widow," Flo took up the game of golf in her mid-fifties and slowly developed into a very good player where she played twice a week well into her late 80's.
Flo was an avid New York Yankees fan and then in her retirement years a Tampa Bay Rays fan. Her family was forever amazed at Flo's knowledge of baseball trivia and often entertained by her candid opinions of how the Managers of the respective teams could enhance the success of the teams if they would only follow "her recommendations." She also loved to cook and bake and was know for her famous Hungarian cookies. Flo was an independent true survivor, as she was able to live independently on her own for 33 years and still drove her car right up to her final days.
Flo was also predeceased by a sister Mildred Ciklin, a brother William Bayliss and is survived by a sister Betty Anne Obringer of Norwalk and a sister in law Irene Bayliss of Boynton Beach, FL.
There will be no services because of Covid restrictions.
