John Boyd Obituary

John Phillips Boyd
Longtime Wilton Resident
John Phillips Boyd, 73, son of Harry and Mary P. Boyd of Norwalk, CT, a longtime Wilton resident, passed away at home on Friday, December 27, 2013. John, a 1958 graduate of Norwalk High School, had worked for Boyd Bros. Artesian Well Drilling in Norwalk for over 30 years.

He also had great interest in automobiles and aviation and at one point learned to fly. An avid lover of animals, he often fed and kept watch over local wildlife. He was predeceased by his loving wife MaryEllen C. Boyd and his sister Judith B. Kapostas.
He is survived by his two daughters, Robin B. McCabe of Newtown, CT and Sharon B. Vento of Weston, CT. He is also survived by a grandson, Sal B. Vento, also of Weston, and a brother Harry S. Boyd of Wilton, CT.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the Wildlife in Crisis Center in Weston, CT or Animals in Distress, Wilton, CT. There will be a private memorial at a later date. To leave an online condolence, please go to: Magnerfuneralhome.com

I was very sorry to hear of Johnny's passing. Although we have not been in touch with our cousins for many years, when we were young our families visited back and forth between Norwalk and Hamilton, Ontario. My sincere sympathy to all his family.

To my cousin Harry and his nieces Robin and Sharon, I wish to extend my condolences for the loss of John. He was always the big cousin to me. A protector of me against the meanies of the world. He always had a mile wide smile and an eagerness to make others happy. Sometimes he could do the most devilish things that left all of us laughing. He will be missed. May God bless all of you and keep you close. With loving memories, Jeanne.

Little Harry, Robin and Sharon I am extremely sorry to hear of Johnny's passing. Johnny, Bobby, and I were cousins, kind of like 3 Musketeers as kids and teenagers. We were born almost exactly 6 months apart. In later years, unfortunately, lost track of each other. I had moved to California and Johnny to Georgia. I still think fondly of the days we played and did things together. Again, condolences to the Family. Dosh
