Michael Starzyk

Michael L. Starzyk, 98, husband of Galy Lapin Starzyk, passed away May 9, 2015 at his home in Westport. Born July 7, 1916 in Chicopee, MA, he was the son of the late Paul Peter and Antonia Starzyk. Mr. Starzyk worked at Sikorsky Aircraft since the earliest helicopters, continued there for 46 years and became the head of Engineering Services. He was also a member of the YMCA Wise Men. In addition to Galy, his wife of 71 years, he is survived by his daughter Nona J. Starzyk of Danbury; granddaughters Rebecca Wilson (Stephen) of Arlington, MA and Rachael Wolff of Venice, FL. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren Andrew, Lily and Kyle Wilson and Aidan and Alyssa Wolff; by his sister Gene Real; by several nieces; by Joyce Graham and by his loving Caretaker Clover Scott. He was predeceased by his son Paul, by four sisters Mary Martha, Cecelia, Adonia, Dorothy and by his brother Stanley. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in St. Paul’s on the Green, 60 East Avenue, Norwalk.
