Thomas Moffett Obituary
Thomas P. Moffett "P," age 61 of Norwalk, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Born October 13, 1957 in Manchester, New Hampshire to the late Thomas E. Moffett and the late Ann P. (Horan) Moffett.
Tommy attended Norwalk Schools and graduated from Norwalk High School. He received his Associates Degree in Business Administration from Norwalk Community College.
Tom was a sales representative for 27 years at Bender Plumbing (formerly Pacific Plumbing) and the owner of Moffett Fiberglass. He was also a 32 year member and sponsor of AA.
Tommy's passions were spending time with his fiancée Karen Swanson, boating, vacations in Lake George New York and Cape Elizabeth Maine, watching Giants football, attending Sound Tiger hockey games and playing golf.
Tommy is best known for his love of family and friends, his sense of humor, his willingness to help others and being an example of what a good human being is.
Tommy is survived by his fiancée Karen Swanson of Hamden, his brother John Moffett and wife Phyllis of Monroe, his sister Mary Kling and husband Kevin of Monroe, his sister Ann Sanchez and husband Braulio of Norwalk, and his brother-in-law Robert Schimenz of Simsbury. Nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Kelly, Katie, Jason, Jessica, Stephanie, Christina, Anthony and Lauren. Tom is also survived by his fiancée's children, Connor and Ryan.
Thomas was predeceased by his sister Patricia Schimenz of Simsbury.
Friends may call on Friday, Aug. 16, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue in Norwalk, CT.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday Aug. 17 at 10:00 am at St. Jerome's Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk, CT.

I just today heard about Tom's passing. We were g Jr High/ High School friends. Good friends. But as life goes we haven't talked in some time. I'm sorry I did not know he wasn't well. I have thought about Tom from time to time and whenever I did it always brought a smile to me. All my memories of Tom are good, happy memories. To me he was such a good hearted person. His brother and sisters the same. A loving family. I will miss him.

I met Tom 17 years ago and found out about his passing this afternoon. I was very sad to hear that and wished I had know to pay my respects to one of the nicest guys in knew.
Usually I saw Tom on Friday nights in Westport and we would talk about the NY Giants, movies and other subjects. My condolences to his family.

Annie John Mary so sorry for your loss Tommy and I were friends for over 50 yrs. he always put everybody else first could not meet a more standup person sure we had a little bit of fun back in the old days and we still would laugh about it but a nicer guy you will never meet so glad we stayed in touch when I moved to the cape although I did stop to see him a few years ago on my back from a drag race again my heart goes out to you all much love Scotty Goodwin

a lot of times i read these messages and it makes me wonder if the people who right them really knew the person ,but as for Tommy , he was everything they say he was , calm cool and without an angry bone in his body , gentle kind and caring about other human beings always ,,, you couldnt get him mad if you tried to ,, rest in peace P LOL ONLY A FEW PEOPLE KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS .

Tom and I were friends during summer school in 1971.my family had just moved from PA. He was always friendly, the kind of man who wouldn't turn his back on you. I'm sure Tom encouraged and was a blessing to all who had the privilege to know Him. He will be missed.
