Bob Ruble Obituary

Graveside memorial services with full military honors will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell. Chaplain Norval Holtmeier will officiate. Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Ruble was born on March 16, 1933, in St. Louis, Mo., to Robert E. Lee and Dolores (Field) Ruble.

Survivors of the immediate family include a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Mary Ruble of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and a daughter, Lisa Marie Ruble of Parker, Colo.

He is also survived by his former wife and friend, Kam Ruble of Central City.

He was raised in Kenosha, Wis., and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. Throughout his life, Bob had lived all over the world. In January of 1953, he joined the United States Marines, serving in Vietnam from 1966-67 and 1970-1971. He retired from the Marines after 23 years of dedicated service. Bob earned his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Brenau College in Gainesville, Ga., and was Chief of Police for six years in Kenesaw, Ga. Robert and Kam were united in marriage on May 6, 1989. They moved to Central City in 1993.

Bob earned the Navy Commendation medal with Combat V for Valor, Combat Action Ribbon, and his Marine rankings were BY/SGT. He was also an active member of the 32nd Degree Masons and Shriners, the American Legion, VFW, Criminal Investigation Division of the United States Marines, and the FBINAA-Nebraska Chapter.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. Lee and Dolores Ruble.
