Bonnard Blair Obituary
April 11, 1929 - March 25, 2025
Bonnard "Bon" Herbert Blair, 95, of Grand Island passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 31, at All Faiths Funeral Home. There is a gathering of family and friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery with military honors provided by U.S. Airforce and United Veterans Honor Guard.
Bon was born April 11, 1929, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Herbert L. and Frances (Lukegard) Blair. Bon was a graduate of Grand Island Senior High. He entered the United States Air Force in 1946 and retired as Senior Master Sargent January 31, 1969.
On February 18, 1950, Bon married Mary Virgina Stokes in Biloxi, Mississippi. The couple lived in various places, due to Bon's military service, making Grand Island their home in 1969. Bon managed the Liederkranz for 13 years and later managed Western Charloin Steakhouse for 12 years.
Bon's memory is cherished by his daughter and her husband, Darlene and Dorson Sawyers of Grand Island; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in 2012; parents; three sons, David, Timothy and Robert; two brothers, Richard and Robert; and two sisters, Betty Rehder and Shirley Keck.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
