Constance Halderman Obituary

Constance Rae "Connie" Halderman, 64, of Grand Island, died Friday, June 3, 2011, at Golden Living Center – Grand Island Park Place.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jack Gillam will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church, one hour prior the service.

Connie was born Dec. 23, 1946, at Marion, Kan.

She is survived by a son, Wendell Corey Halderman of Lincoln; a sister, Anna Mills of Arizona; adoptive father, Pastor Robert Harms of Grand Island; adoptive siblings, Daniel Harms of Amarillo, Texas, Bret Harms of Central City and Rochelle (Harms) Sassman of Foley, Mo.

She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Gene Howell of Broken Bow; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Carol Ann Howell; her adoptive mother, Elinor "Tad" Harms; and a brother, John Branstetter.

Connie grew up in Lebanon, Mo., receiving her education at Bridgeport and Pierce, graduating from Hastings. She was also a graduate of Central Nebraska Technical College in Hastings.

She was united in marriage to Clifford Halderman in St. Louis. This union was blessed with a son, Wendell.

Connie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts, many of which were influenced by her Cherokee heritage.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church.
