Dustin Kinney Obituary

HASTINGS - Dustin S. Kinney, 30, of Hastings died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at his home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Hastings, with the Rev. Steven Peeler officiating. Burial will be in the Parkview Cemetery, Hastings.

There will be no visitation. There will be a book signing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

Mr. Kinney was born April 19, 1980, in Hastings to Keith and Cindy (Jones) Kinney.

Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Angie Kinney of Hastings; two sons, Carson and Owen Kinney of Hastings; his parents of Hastings; two sisters and brothers-in-law, April and Scott Struss and Jessi and Ryan Northrup, all of Hastings; a brother and sister-in-law, Brandon and Kelly Kinney of Hastings.

Additional survivors include grandparents, Dorrit and Dean Dunn of Hastings; four nieces and four nephews; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jan and Clem Ward of Hastings; brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Levi Ward of Lincoln and Jim and Micki Ward of Grand Island; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He graduated from Hastings High School in 1998. Dustin was in the United States Marine Corps from 1998 through 1999. On March 18, 2000, he married his best friend, Angie Ward in Hastings. He worked as a finance manager for Kerr Chevrolet in Hastings.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. He coached little league baseball, was president of Hawthorne PTO and enjoyed being a dad and spending time with family and friends. Dustin is his boys' "hero".

Dustin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clint Jones, Oscar and Pearl Kinney, and Jim Kinney.

Memorials may be given to the Dustin S. Kinney Memorial Fund.
