Edward A. "Ed" Haverluck Sr.

1955 - 2020

Edward A. Haverluck Sr., 65, of Grand Island passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at CHI Health St. Francis Medical Center, with his family by his side.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at All Faiths Funeral Home, with livestreaming available on All Faiths Funeral Home Facebook page. Dan Naranjo will officiate.
Ed was born July 17, 1955, son of Vernon and Clarice (Fleming) Haverluck in Minot, N.D.
Ed grew up in Logan, N.D., and graduated from Sawyer,
N.D. In 1984, he married Marilyn Kangas. He was blessed with one son from a previous relationship, and he and Marilyn were blessed with five children. The family made their home in Grand Island since 1989.
Ed owned and operated Ed's Odd Jobs for many years and assisted many Grand Islanders with household repair. He was skilled and knowledgeable in a variety of trades. Ed was proud of all of his children's accomplishments and, although he never served in the U.S. military, he was proud of his three sons who served in the U.S. Army.
Ed enjoyed any activity that let him be outside. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed camping with his family. He loved to grow a large vegetable garden and often tried to grow flowers. Ed collected eagle figurines and was a dedicated John Wayne fan.
He is survived by his children, Edward (Joey) Haverluck Jr., Nathan Haverluck, Andrew Haverluck, Noah Haverluck, Jennie Haverluck and Cody Haverluck; grandchildren, Alie, Morgan (Vince) Glodowski, Wyatt, Edward III, Carter, Nolan, Jaidon, Ariannah, Aurora and Aryan "Peewee"; great-granddaughter, Isabelle; along with eight brothers and sisters and numerous adoptive family.
Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria; parents; and stepfather, Ernest Newman.
