HASTINGS - Gary R. Talich, 79, of Hastings, NE, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, NE.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Kathy Uldrich officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be 1:00 PM -7:00 PM with the family present from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. The service will also be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home's website. Gary was born July 2, 1945, in Grand Island, NE to Richard and Arlene (Hartzell) Talich.
He graduated from Giltner High School in 1963 and then studied accounting at Grand Island Business College. Gary married his beloved wife Donna Lee on August 14, 1966, in Grand Island, NE and the couple moved to Hastings, NE where he was employed by Hastings Typewriter Co. Gary then spent forty-five plus years working for Johnson Concrete Products Co, as the General Manager prior to retiring in 2015. Gary loved spending time golfing and hunting with his family and friends. Gary and Donna also enjoyed spending winters with dear friends and family in Arizona.
Gary and Donna were members of Grace United Methodist Church, Lochland Country Club, and the Grand Island Saddle Club.
Gary is survived by his son, Rick (Debra) Talich, of Glenwood, Iowa; grandsons; Turner (Savannah) Talich, Cooper Talich and Sawyer Talich also of Glenwood; daughter, Kimberly Jones of Grand Junction, CO; and granddaughter, Olivia Jones of Denver, CO; brother Rob (Dawn) Talich of LaVista, NE; sister, Pat (Jon) Chandler of Commerce City, CO; other extended family and many friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Arlene Talich of Giltner, NE; wife, Donna Talich; and infant grandson, Aidan Jones.
