Joshua Wiens Obituary

BEATRICE - Joshua Jacob Wiens, 28, of Beatrice, formerly of Grand Island, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Mennonite Church in rural Beatrice. The Rev. Muriel Kaufman Graber and the Rev. Donavin Diller will officiate. Burial will be in the First Mennonite Cemetery in rural Beatrice.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Family will greet friends at the mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation will resume one hour preceding services at the church.

Mr. Wiens was born Sept. 23, 1979, at Colby, Kan., to Brenda and Scott Wiens.

Survivors of his immediate family include his parents of rural Beatrice; his fiancŽ, Mindy Vance of Lincoln; a sister and brother-in-law, Shely and Matt Bauman of Beatrice; two brothers, Andrew Wiens and Jarrod Wiens of Hastings; grandparents, Ron and Kay Wiens of Beatrice, Lowell and Emily Hatfield of Fairmont, Minn.; and a great-grandmother, Lydia Mann of Beatrice.

We are all so sorry to hear about the loss of this amazing young man. We grew to know Josh and his family during his radiation treatments. What a wonderful person with a great support system. He will be missed! Love-
All the girls at SERMC Radiation Therapy(especially the ones that tried to make him take his shirt off for brain treatment:) )
