July 4, 1965 - February 11, 2025
Lisa R. Wieczorek, 59, of Grand Island, Neb. died on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in the comfort of her home surrounded by family.
Memorial Services will be 12 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island with Derek Apfel, CFC officiating. Fellowship of family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Grand Island Police Department. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements, online condolences may be left at www.apfelfuneralhome.com.
Lisa was born on July 4, 1965, at Grand Island, Neb. to James and "Kay" Wenda (Boroff) Rieken. She grew up in Grand Island graduating from Grand Island Senior High School with the class of 1983.
She was united in marriage to Micheal Wieczorek on November 12, 1994, in Grand Island. After which the couple resided together in Grand Island. Lisa worked with those with disabilities for 36 years and was able to do so through Mid Nebraska, Mosaic, CNCS, Integrated Life Choices, and as a para-educator at Grand Island Senior High School.
Lisa loved to watch softball and especially loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Wieczorek of 30 years; sons: Mike (Angela) Wieczorek and Jason (Jessica) Wieczorek; daughters: Kendyl and Kaylon Wieczorek; grandchildren: Taylor, Tanner, Payton, Jordon, and Sophia; sisters: Lori Rieken and Michelle (Kyle) Stratman; and brother, Michale (Reneé) Rieken.
Lisa is preceded in death by her parents, James L. and Wenda "Kay" Rieken.

I worked with Lisa at CNCS in the late nineties. She ran the Commodities in our office in Grand Island. We had many, many laughs and I have wonderful memories of my time working with her. She will be very, very missed by everyone!!
