Barb I am so sorry for you & your families loss of your husband Stu. I don´t get the paper so never knew of his passing until after the funeral. I knew him from the short time I worked at the VA (1987 to 1990) although I never worked ICU there but 2nd floor. He was an exceptional nurse & I know he will be missed.

I first met Stu during our early days at St Francis. Stu was fun to work with and always had a smile for you. I was re-introduced to him through a friend when he was in ICU at the VA. was great to catch up. Think last I saw him was after his retirement. He caring attitude and kind heart will be missed.
Thoughts and prayers to the family.

I worked with Stu at the VA. I was a medical clerk. I remember he would wear 2 different colored shoes some days. That was Stu. Just laid back and easy going. He was pleasant to work with. He will be missed.

Stu will be missed by everyone who knew him and loved him. I have known Barb and Stu for many years from our church Grace Lutheran and also had the chance to be apart of the family. I am so sorry for your loss he was a funny guy with so much comedy in him and he also had a heart of gold I was lucky to have known Barb and Stu for most of my whole life.

Deepest Sympathy to Stu´s family. I first met Stu as a nurse working ICU at the VAMC . Stu always seemed to have a big ole smile, was easy going and kind. I ran across him again in the last couple years and he hadn´t changed and we got to reminisce of days of the past and he sure smiled a lot when he talked of his family and the things that are most important that centered around them! What a great guy! Gods Blessings to his family. Theresa RN

You became dad to the crew. Over at the house who knows how many times. Always happy, never a bad word spoken. You were the first person I seen after I was given my MS diagnoses.
I was overwhelmed and you sat there and shed tears with me, right there in the middle of the VA. We laughed and cried together when the good and bad rolled in as they always do but you did it with a smile. A true Nebraskan. You spoke from the heart no matter what.
I will sure miss your laugh pops. Father for one but dad for all of us boys as we were becoming men. Hats off for you good sir. It was an honor knowing you and an absolute treasure learning how to keep on rolling life's terms with you.
Say hello to Beth for us. Rest easy brother. You may have raised three kids to be outstanding human beings but you helped all of us to become the men we are today. Love ya man. Till we meet again.
Barb, you have a fine collection of men you have also guided who will be there every step of the way for you. Sending love from Virginia. Sorry for your loss.

Grandpa, oh where do I find the words to write this. You were literally the definition of compassion. You demonstrated this is so many different ways and places. There aren't enough words to describe how thankful and blessed I was to even have known you. From the kindness you and grandma offered when dad and I needed a place to stay. From hearing stories from patients and their families of how compassionate and kind you were. Always walking around with a smile on your face no matter what. You are the person that everyone aspires to be in every way. You never once treated anyone like you were better than them. I for sure am one of the many people who aspire to be the kind, compassionate, caring human you were. I will consider myself to be blessed to be half the human and nurser you were. I never realized how much we both helped each-other out. I helped you when Aunt Beth passed and you helped me countless times. You were the grandparent that kids wished they could write a report about in English class. The Grandparent that would stay up late and think of quirky catch-phrases to help me remember the definition. The grandparent I could always call when I had a question or bad day at work and always had an answer or way to cheer me up. Like I said before I left your hospital room for the last time "I was your angel, now your mine". The last interaction I had with you was the night before you passed away. My parents and I were about to leave to go to the hotel for the night. I went over to give you a kiss on your forehead like I always did. But right before I gave you a kiss you opened your eyes and looked up at me and I have never been more happy to have someone
open their eyes and look at me. I know who proud you are of me and I can't wait to make you even more proud when I become a nurse just like you. I love you forever and always Grandpa. Give Aunt Beth and Duke a hug and a kiss from me. Until we meet again Grandpa!

I just learned that a dear friend and former co-worker by the name of Steward "Stu" Endorf just past away. Stu was the most gracious, kind, perceptive, and best R.N. I have ever had the pleasure to encounter.

He was designated "Big Brother" to me the first year I attended the St. Francis School of nursing, and later on I was designated to be his mentor to the Intensive Care Unit at the Grand Island VA. Actually he needed no mentoring or introduction to the unit as he was already ACLS certified and a very accomplished RN. I dearly miss him. Tom V Stimson

I'm going to miss Stu tremendously. We have been friends on Facebook since 2014. And though we never met personally, we feel as though he and Barb and Michael's family are our own. Over the years we have shared experiences and laughter. Stu has always been there with quick wit and a beautiful soul. This breaks my heart for the entire family. Stu is at rest now.
Sending our love from NC to all of his family and friends that have lost this wonderful man.
