Sylvia Zimmer Obituary
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Pleasanton. The Rev. Karla Sheffy will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Zimmer was born Dec. 11, 1925, on a farm four miles northwest of Ravenna to Edward and Dora (Rasmussen) Krichau.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Zimmer, on May 30, 2001.
Survivors of the immediate family include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald and Marilyn Zimmer of Ravenna and Larry Zimmer of Pleasanton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marjorie and Bob Behrendt of Ravenna and Janet and Terry Enck of Grand Island.
Additional survivors include grandchildren, Sue and husband, Jeff Bunger, Carrie Zimmer and fiance, Dave Hervert, Melanie Zimmer and special friend, Stefan Boshoff, Mike Behrendt and wife, Amy, Bobbi and husband, Scott Tavenner, John Behrendt, Danelle and husband, Josh Nutt, Breann Zimmer, Morgan Dean Zimmer, Emily Zimmer and Courtney Borland, Tara Enck and fiance, Michael Witte and Tamra and husband, Isaiah Nielson, great-grandchildren, Megan Hunke, Jared Hunke, Lainey Hervert, Aubree Hervert, Brittany Behrendt, Trevin Behrendt, Haley Tavenner, Aarron Tavenner and Lindsey Behrendt.
She received her grade school education at Dry Creek School District 20. She graduated from Ravenna High School 1943. She received Normal Training in high school and then taught in rural schools for five years.
She married Dean Zimmer on Aug. 10, 1948, in Kearney. They made their home on a farm northwest of Pleasanton. They moved into Pleasanton in 1989. She was the custodian at the United Methodist Church in Pleasanton for many years.
She was a 50 year member of the Pleasanton United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Bert and James Krichau.
