I recently became aware of Weldon`s passing and wish to extend my belated condolences to Jane and the Harris family. I knew Weldon and we became friends through the Doylestown YMCA. Weldon was an active swimmer and I was at the time as well and that´s how we originally connected and became friendly. I was the president of the Ymca up until 2010 when I retired but during my tenure of 20 years Weldon was aware that we were planning some major expansion projects at the Y and offered his service as a civil engineer and he served on several of our building committees. He also offered to help with our annual support campaign as a contributor and solicited other donors as well. I recall meeting Jane several times at a few YMCA recognition events and enjoyed her company as well. Weldon was always very understated, humble, but very approachable and friendly. Through his volunteer efforts at the YMCA the Y was able to complete several major renovations/expansions in addition to a new pool which I´m sure Weldon would´ve enjoyed.
Again we are so sorry for your loss but please know the tremendous impact that Weldon had with the many lives he touched and the contributions he made to the Ymca in Doylestown, Gene Smith
