Charles Hulbert Obituary
Charles R. Hulbert, 75 of Newfield, died October 14, 2016 at the Hospicare Residence in Ithaca. Charlie served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Oriskany (CV-34). He worked for The Town of Ithaca Highway Department. His family was very important to him and he was a very special and wonderful father, grandfather and husband. He was a friend to many and always greeted everyone with a warm smile. He is predeceased in death by his father Fredrick Burton Hulbert and his mother Gladys Mae Marshall Hulbert, along with several brothers and sisters. Charlie is survived by his loving wife Dorothy F. Hulbert. Daughter Tina (Dan) Dinsmore, sons Todd (Mary) Hulbert, Thad (Dana) Hulbert and daughter Tonya Hulbert. Grand children Andrew, Michelle, Justin, Danielle, Kathryn, Emily, Abbey, Cierra, Benjamin, Hannah, Colten, Konner and Kamden , Addison and 3 great grand children. Services will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 12:00 noon at the Danby Federated Church. Friends may call from 10:00 to 12:00 prior to the service. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations in Charlie's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society. Bangs Funeral Home will be assisting the family

Dear Dottie and Family,
We are so very sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. He was one of the most pleasant and welcoming people we know. When we would see Charlie, perhaps taking a walk on Stonehaven Circle, we were always assured of a smile and a friendly greeting. We know you will miss him tremendously! So sad to hear of Charlie passing. I have known the family for many years, it's almost like we spent more time at your house than our own growing up. Even at the crack of dawn you welcomed us into your home with open arms. The world has truly lost a great man. Thoughts and prayers go to Dotty and her family. Dorothy and Family I was very saddened to hear of Charlie's passing . I grew up with him and have known him some 60 plus years .always a smile on his face and just a super guy .
He is now in a much better place and will no longer be dealing with his health .
